I normally only send a raven once a month with ominous news, but this was too fun not to share.

Ready for a New Adventure?

Last year I wrote a short story for a new anthology funding on Kickstarter. The theme of the series is Fire & Stone, and each writer was asked to contribute a short story that matched that theme and would work well as a family read-aloud or an epic binge-read for anyone ten and up. And the good news?

It’s funding now!

“Dangerous dragons. Protective golems. Vain knights. Demons hiding in bushes. Labyrinthine junkyards. Vengeful manifestations of everyday things. Mountains of glass impossible to scale. Common thieves that meet an uncommon end.”

I’ve read several of the stories in this collection already, and they’re fantastic. My story, October, is a Western of sorts, but with a twist. Because I always deal in twists. If you want to read the descriptions of all fourteen short stories, click here.

Here’s where I need your help:

  • The only way these stories will see the light of day is if the project gets funded

  • Pledges in the first 12 hours are the most important

  • If you aren’t able to pledge, please consider sharing the link with your friends or on your socials!

If you or someone you love could use a new book of short stories on the shelf, then please back this Kickstarter!

One Last Incentive

Consider this my shameless plea: if you do pledge for the Fire & Stone anthology and the collection funds, send me a photo of you (or your excited child) holding the book, along with your address, and I’ll mail you a signed bookplate to stick inside! Or you can stick it in your copy of The Winter King or The Sinking City. Or you can stick it on your favorite sweatshirt. I won’t judge where the bookplate goes.

I’ll be back in just a few days with January’s monthly roundup!

Christine
